Please note that all Medina Booster meetings are now held on the second Monday of each month, unless otherwise noted. The dates for the 2011-12 school year are: 

  February 13; March 12; Tuesday, April 10 (change due to no school on Monday, April 9) May 14; and June 11. All meetings are held in the MHS Distance Learning Lab, across from the gym.

FREE COLLEGE RECRUITING SPEAKER HOSTED BY MEDINA BOOSTERS & MEDINA ATHLETIC DEPT.
7 PM, MONDAY, FEB. 13 @ THE PAC

Nationally known college recruiting speaker Frank Dorazio of Dynamite Sports will be the featured speaker at 7 pm, Monday, Feb. 13 in the Medina Performing Arts Center.

MHS Team Fundraising Efforts


Boys Lacrosse:
Saturday, January 28 Spaghetti Dinner

A spaghetti dinner fundraiser will be held from 6:30 pm-11 pm, Sat., Jan.28 at The Eagles. This adult only even will feature dinner, silent auction and corn hole. Tickets are $20 per person and are available at the HUB or from Renita McMillen Would you like more info? View the event flier for more info and contact info for tickets.



Baseball: Super Bowl Squares
NFL Super Bowl squares are available through the Medina B's benefiting the MHS baseball team and their annual spring trip to Florida. Rules, payouts and contact info is available here. Asst. Coach Dan Sherman is coordinating and can be contacted to purchase the squares or for more info.


Girls Basketball:
* Tuesday, Feb. 14 BW3's Dine Out Fundraiser
Present this flier beginning at 4 pm at BW3's, 5050 Eastpointe Drive, Medina, and 15% of your total check will be forwarded to the MHS girls basketball team. All orders must be accompanied by the flier for team to receive credit.
* Root Candles 

A variety of scents from the local A.I. Root candle Co. are available.  Click for details and an order form. 

Golf: 
2012 Ryder Cup Ticket Raffle    
The Medina Boys Golf Team will be selling raffle tickets to win 2 daily passes to the 2012 Ryder Cup in Medinah, Illinois. Cost will be $30/ticket with only 200 tickets sold. The Ryder Cup is Sept. 25-30, 2012. Tickets will be available for purchase at the HUB or email Coach Pritchard.  

Gymnastics:
Keep Warm with an MHS Snuggie! 
A black snuggie will keep you warm this winter and benefit the MHS Gymnastics team. Each is $25 and the blanket has an oval "M" on it. Contact Connie for more info.

BOOSTER MEMBERSHIP - JOIN TODAY!  

Booster membership is available at a variety of levels - starting at $25 - and offers many money-saving incentives. Boosters welcomes NEW and RENEWING members RIGHT NOW for the 2011-12. Fill out the form, mail in and Boosters will do the rest. Or, join online! And, immediately say, "I'm a Medina Booster!"


NEW THIS YEAR! 20% of each Booster membership will be directed to your sport team of choice. For example, if your son is on the football team and you join at the $100 Booster Level, $20 will be deposited in the Football Parents Group bucket. The same with all the sports teams and membership levels. It's a win-win for student athlete families and Boosters!

What does Boosters do to make the student athlete experience the best it can be in Medina?

The Boosters' goal is to reach 500+ members during the 2011-12 school year. Your show of support is needed to do so! Your membership dollars help Boosters support Medina's athletes in a variety of ways.  

Here are just a few and the projected amounts that are spent on each annually:
  • Purchase of uniforms for high school and middle school on a rotating basis ($25,000)
  • Assist Athletic Director with Equipment Purchases ($15,000)
  • Coaches' Training and Camps ($5,000)
  • Recognizing athletic excellence with state jackets & festivities - over 130 awarded to date ($10,000)
  • Dukes Scholarships awarded annually ($5,000)
  • Vital, up-to-date communication through weekly emails and website

Duties include designing and purchasing spirit wear items through local businesses to sell at home events and assist teams with send-offs and other promotional events.

Other Booster committees in need of volunteers for next year include: Advertising (Chair, Laurie Letts); Fundraising (Chair, Bill Bennett); Program (Chair, Amy Johanson); and Membership (Director, Bill Doraty).  



FREE Sports Physicals Available @ Balance of Life Clinic

The Balance of Life Clinic, 3985 Medina Rd., Suite 250 (corner of Foote and Rt. 18), offers FREE sports physicals by appointment with Dr. Cliff Sonnie. Anyone with questions or who would like to make an appointment may call 330-764-4242. The physical forms necessary to play an MHS sport can be downloaded from the Medina AD site.  Click here

All Sport and Senior Citizen Passes Available
Student passes are available in the Athletic Department for $30 each for all sports. Adult passes are also available for $65 each.Any senior citizen age 62 and up is eligible for an NOC Senior Pass.

These passes are offered free of charge from the league and are good for all NOC home and away games. They are not valid for tournament or playoff games. Stop in the AD office to receive the passes.
